It has been a busy fall and winter, but I’m thankful to get some time to post some music! I hope all of you, dear readers, have had a splendid 2022. Blog-wise, keep an eye out for streamlined dark-mode and lazy loading. I’ve also been sporadically laying plans for autoplay functionality and potentially a global player for persistent player controls.

First up, Adam F, with his exemplary drum & bass record Colours from 1997. Tracy Thorn, from Everything But the Girl provides her sublime vocals in to the track “The Tree Knows Everything”, which I’ve included below along with some of the other diverse and intelligent tracks on this record.

Adam F — F Jam (Original Mix)

Adam F — Circles

Yasmine Hamdan is a Lebanese singer and songwriter, and puts out albums under Y.A.S. (when she teams up with Mirwais) and Soap Kills (when she teams up with Zeid Hamdan). It was her association with Mirwais that led me to her music, of which Arabology was a teenage favorite of mine and Al Jamilat has been my most recent facination. Below are a couple standout tracks from Al Jamilat. Check out Jamilat Reprise, a remix album, if you enjoy these ones.

Yasmine Hamdan — Balad
Yasmine Hamdan — Choubi
Yasmine Hamdan — Douss (George Bshoum remix)

Black Coffee, a South African DJ, has been a regular fixture at Ibiza and has put out many classic house tracks over the years. He studied jazz when he first started and those influences are apparent in his music.

Swedish dream-pop band/indie rock, the Radio Dept., have been active in the indie rock circles for more than decade. The group has undergone changes over the years, changing the original duo from Elin Almered and Johan Duncanson to Martin Larsson and Duncanson. Their shoegaze inspired tunes give a warm fuzzy feeling — especially nice in winter.

The Radio Dept. — Heaven’s On Fire
The Radio Dept. — Never Follow Suit
The Radio Dept. — Sleeping In

Yes, I watched Chainsaw Man. And I’m glad I did because I found Tooboe, one of the artists featured in the many endings of the show. 錠剤 is one such an ending.

TOOBOE — 心臓
TOOBOE — 錠剤 (warning: loud beginning)

There is no house today, just techno. Kangding Ray: at the intersection of the physical and experimental.
